- If the OpenOCD J-Link USB driver is configured, J-Link can be used with OpenOCD but not with ordinary J-Link utilities like for example J-Link Commander. In order to be able to communicate with the J-Link in the native J-Link utilities, the driver needs to be switched back from the J-Link OpenOCD driver to the original J-Link USB driver.

The package provides the installation files for Segger J-Link USB Driver version 2.70.8.0. If the driver is already installed on your system, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix various issues, add new functions, or just upgrade to the available version. I believe you need to use the x86 folder from the Segger installation for the 32-bit drivers (even though your PC is 64-bit). That is what Segger told the FAE that was experiencing the issue. In no way would the STK be bricked, once the correct driver is installed it will be recognized again.
